The building of the extension to Solo Sokos Hotel Paviljonki

Modern and ecological luxury

The building of the extension to Solo Sokos Hotel Paviljonki has proceeded according to schedule over the winter. As a result, our hotel, which opened in June 2012, will have 40 new rooms by the summer. The extension was necessary, as Jyväskylä continues to strengthen its position as one of Finland's most popular exhibition, conference and congress venues as well as attracting more and more leisure travellers.

Timeless materials

Our new rooms represent the best in Scandinavian design: timeless and luxurious with a modern touch.  Sustainable timelessness and naturalness are at the core of the responsible and ecological design of our Green Key hotel. Joanna Laajisto, who was voted interior designer of the year in 2018, is in charge of the décor work and overall look of the rooms. The spaces she designs are characteristically peaceful and calming, qualities that leave an impression on their users.

The interiors of all the new rooms have been crafted using high-quality materials and a restrained colour palette. Genuine oak and dark, matt surface granite have been used for the floors and fixtures. Natural materials, such as linen and wool, highlight the textile selection. Each room has a different and unique photographic work by Mikko Ryhänen. The theme of the works is the nature in Jyväskylä: beautiful, ever-present and always near at hand.

Rooms from 25 to 100 m2 in three different classes

The new rooms will come in three different classes. Solo Up rooms are around 25 m2 in area, while Supreme rooms are about a third larger. You can choose between a broad double bed or two single beds. Unique even by international standards, the hotel boasts two 100 m2 two-storey suites, both with two double beds, a comfortable living room, a sauna and a rooftop terrace from where you can admire views of both the city and lake and enjoy a grandstand view of urban life in Jyväskylä's central event square. All rooms are equipped with a minibar, flat-screen television and a safe for your valuables as well as an iron, separately controlled air conditioning, a Cupsolo coffee maker, bathrobes and slippers.

Room upgrades now easier than ever

For S-Card Premium cardholders, our hotel extension is bound to be especially pleasing, as we will be able to upgrade room reservations more often than before. Free upgrades will be easier, as there are more room options available and more rooms to offer.
