Koli's new village hotel reflects the atmosphere of the national park's hiking trails
Opening in summer 2023, Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä serves both as a gateway to the national park and the centerpiece of Koli village. The diverse hiking trails literally start from the hotel yard, making the cozy village hotel a natural base for active guests. The atmosphere of the national park's trails is reflected in the hotel, with an interior inspired by Koli's beautiful seasons and outdoor living. The village hotel will serve as an addition to Break Sokos Hotel Koli, located close to the peaks of Ukko-Koli.

Fascinating details inspired by nature
The atmosphere of the village hotel, changing with each floor, introduces guests to the different seasons of Koli – from the misty spruce forests on spring mornings to the snowy peaks of Koli. The hotel will sport many fascinating details, like the surprising wall bars found in each room.
"The interior solutions reflect the surrounding nature and outdoor living: earthy tones, hiking trail signs, patterns found on the cliffs of Koli. Local carpentry work and materials from local producers, such as soapstone, are utilized in the furnishings," says Nina Ahlroos from Schauman Architects. "Wooden and stone surfaces are used throughout the interior, alongside colours and nature motifs. The design is calm and serene – a characteristic feature also of Koli."
National park excursions with packed lunches continue in the hotel
Packed lunches are an integral part of excursion days. They are served by the village hotel's unpretentious restaurant Kannonnokka and café Puronmutka. Young guests can continue their excursions in the cottages located in the lobby's play corner and on the climbing wall. The top floor of the hotel houses a resident sauna and a private sauna with a fireplace, jacuzzi and scenic balconies.
Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä will open in summer 2023.

Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä is a relaxed hotel close to nature, located in the middle of Koli village, next to the hiking trails of the national park. The village hotel offers its guests a pleasant stay either enjoying Koli's diverse nature and activities or relaxing at the hotel after a day of hiking. The new village hotel is expected to be completed in June–July 2023. The hotel is operated by the Northern Karelia Cooperative Society.
