Helsinki, public transportation, metro, bus, tram
Public transportation in Helsinki works like a clock!

How to use the public transportation in Helsinki?

Reach your destination in Helsinki easily with public transportation!

Are you going to a concert in Hartwall Arena or taking an early flight back home? The Helsinki capital area is easily reached from Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti and the connections to the other bigger cities in Finland are also good! We in Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti do our best to take care of our planet and that is why we recommend using public transportation meanwhile staying in Helsinki. Using the public transportation is much cheaper than using a taxi. Driving with your own car can be sometimes very unconvenient due to rush hours, finding parking places and paying the expensive fees for parking.

Right next to the hotel there is a shopping center Kamppi where there is a busterminal inside. Busses to Espoo direction and also all the long distance busses go from there. The nearest metro stop is also at Kamppi shopping center.

It is only 5 minutes walking distance to the Central Railway Station from the hotel. There are busses going to Vantaa direction from the railway station and train connections to all over Finland and even to Russia. Trains I & P will take you to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport easily and with a reasonable price.

All the schedules and route information can be seen easily from Journey Planer. The internet page is available in Finnish, English, Russian and Swedish. Just write the address where you are leaving from and the destination address and the internet page will tell you whether you need a bus, metro or tram to reach the destination,  which lines to take, etc. You will also be able to see the exact stop details and arrival times.

You can buy a 24 hour ticket for the public transportation in Helsinki from R-Kioski or for example at the metro stations and railway station automats. There are also tickets for several days available if you plan on staying a bit longer in Helsinki.

During the summer time you can also rent a city bike around the city. The easiest pick up place is from the railway station where you can rent the bike with your credit card.

Our staff in reception is always available to help with the directions and we can also give you further information how to rent the citybike.
