We are proud to present: Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone
Started in autumn 2017, the modernisation of the valuable hotel property is an investment of EUR 20 million, ranging from the full renovation of the property to changes in business operations. The true classic designed by Turku-based architects in the 1920s is being modernised for the 2020s.
Main entrance back to Humalistonkatu
Designed by Erik Bryggman and Ilmari Ahonen, Turun Seurahuone was completed in 1928. This modernisation project pays its respects to the classic exterior design dating back to the 1920s.
The most significant change concerns the main entrance which will return from Eerikinkatu to its original location on Humalistonkatu. The external face will feature tones of terracotta and yellow, following colours typical to the original era.
Unique and different
Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone is more than floors and rooms. Pieces of the history of Turku, surprising stories and many warm memories are hidden inside its walls. Turun Seurahuone has taken good care of its visitors for nearly a century. It has taken shipbuilders, businessmen and city leaders by surprise, and its unique atmosphere has attracted celebrating families and seasoned travellers.
The atmosphere of the new Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone will also be easy-going and unique, which visitors will never forget.
"At street level, the hotel will feature a lively and attractive, and nicely urban, dining and evening restaurant where people can enjoy their time together. The diverse and modifiable restaurant facilities on the second floor offers an ideal setting for a relaxing start of the day while enjoying the delicious Solo breakfast, for working alone in peace and quiet and for various meetings and events. To top it all off, the hotel offers an attractive opportunity for outdoor enjoyment and staying together. Naturally, the hotel also features pampering saunas and a full equipped gym", says general manager Sanna-Liisa Byskata.
As a result of the modernisation, the number of rooms will increase from 131 to 140.
"Seven room types offer plenty to choose from. We will have options from wonderful Solo Single rooms all the way to the luxurious Ultimate Solo Suite", Byskata says.
