Take part in knitting a gigantic scarf at Hotel Ilves
There is a knitting area in the hotel lobby where knitting needles are waiting for you – come and add your touch to the gigantic scarf! The knitting area is freely available to all of our guests and all inhabitants of Tampere, and it is offered in cooperation with Mummon Kammari (Granny's Corner), a centre for voluntary elderly work.
Leave your mark on the blue and white scarf and write down your greetings to Finland, which will celebrate one hundred years of independence next year. You can also take part by donating a ball or two of yarn in the colours of the Finnish flag. At the end of the year, we will measure the length of the scarf we have knit together. Then, representatives of Mummon Kammari will unravel the scarf and use the yarn for other purposes.
Good deeds to celebrate Finland's centenary
Original Sokos Hotel Ilves is preparing for Finland's centenary together with Mummon Kammari, a centre for voluntary elderly work in Tampere. The purpose is to inspire every Finnish person to do good deeds together for the blue and white celebration in the form of knitting.
