Koli's fairy guides you on hiking trails
Koli is known for its stunning hiking trails and landscapes. During summer, Break Sokos Hotel Koli's courtyard is home to Koli's fairy, a local guide who helps you find the best routes, tells fascinating Koli stories, and guides you where needed. The fairy works from Midsummer to the end of July.
From the hotel's courtyard, you can also step into the scenic lift, which takes you to admire the breath-taking view of Lake Pielinen. The lift conveniently transports you from Ylä-Koli to Rinnetupa. The scenic lift operates from June 10th to August 20th, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and additionally on Wednesdays and Saturdays until 9:00 pm from June 10th to August 5th.
The Nature Centre Ukko, which showcases Finland's most famous national landscape as well as the Eastern Finnish nature and traditional environments, is also located in the same courtyard. The Ukko-Koli lookout is only a few hundred meters from the nature center.
Activities in the national landscape
The classic route "Huippujen kierros" (Tour of the tops) is 1.4 kilometres long and can be accessed directly from the courtyard of Break Sokos Hotel Koli. The route includes the peaks of Akka-Koli, Paha-Koli, and Ukko-Koli, each with its own unique atmosphere and views. The soul rests in these landscapes! You can buy a picnic lunch from the hotel to take with you on the tour.
Are you a frisbee golf enthusiast? The national park's slope area has an 18-hole frisbee golf course. This unique course offers a physical challenge, as it has an elevation difference of over 200 meters. You can also purchase or borrow additional frisbee golf bags, a good selection of Prodigy basic discs, disc golf backpacks, and starter packs from Rinnetupa.
At Koli Relax Spa, you can soak in the national landscape
At the end of the day, it's nice to sit down and relax in Finland's best-rated landscape spa at Break Sokos Hotel Koli. Relax in the gentle heat of the saunas and sit in the pools with stunning views of the hills and the lake. The spa ticket includes a sauna bucket with either Lumene products or wine.
Eating well at Koli
The Rinnetupa café & restaurant is open from June 10th to August 20th from 10am to 5:30pm. It's a nice place to stop for a meal or refreshments on the cozy terrace.
The cafeteria also hosts popular grill nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 10th to August 5th, from 6pm to 9pm. They offer a delicious grill buffet with a different theme each week, alternating between Asia, America, and Greece. Reservations can be made in advance on raflaamo.fi.
The panoramic restaurant Grill It! Koli offers a rich buffet table from June 23rd to July 30th from 12pm to 4pm in addition to their a la carte menu. The restaurant's themed menus, Jean and Aino, can be ordered in advance, taking you back to the atmosphere of Sibelius' honeymoon trip to Koli. Come and enjoy the delicious food!
The most delicious breakfast at Koli is served at the Break Sokos Hotel Koli. The breakfast is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. The price of breakfast is 16,50 € for adults and 1 € per year of age for children aged 4-12.
A new village hotel will open for Midsummer
Koli's summer also offers something completely new as Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä opens its doors on Midsummer's Eve, June 23, in the heart of Koli village. The hotel also features a cozy restaurant, a homely lobby bar, and the largest terrace in the area.
