S Group to redesign existing and introduce new hotels

The S Group invests heavily in ensuring that our hotel network is not only comprehensive but also in excellent condition. The redesign of hotels is a continuous process. New hotels will also open: Radisson RED Helsinki and Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä will open in summer 2023.

Rooms to feature the nature of Saimaa

The extensive redesign of the rooms at Original Sokos Hotel Lappee was completed in the spring. The hotel room themes, Paatti and Pihka, have been inspired by the nature of Lake Saimaa, the local wood industry and the long steamboat tradition. The choice of materials and furniture, by Finnish artisan companies such as Nikari and Woodnotes, support sustainable consumption.

Popular Savonia hotels to be redesigned

The redesign of the main building of Original Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi in Kuopio will be completed by summer 2023. The new rooms present the different shades and moods of local music and dance in a beautiful way. In the hotel corridors, guests can admire dynamic art created by Kuopio-based artists.

The building already features, for example, rooms with a Kuopio Dance Festival-theme.

In Savonia, Iisalmi Original Sokos Hotel Koljonvirta will also undergo a major redesign. In the future, the hotel will offer guests a lush and nature-themed hotel and restaurant experience. In both cities, the lake landscape of Northern Savonia will add to the hotel experience.

Seurahuone in Savonlinna to become an experience centre

Original Sokos Hotel Seurahuone in Savonlinna will have 55 redesigned, beautiful and light-coloured rooms in summer. With this, and already finalized improvements, the hotel will become a versatile experience centre in the beautiful shore landscape of Lake Saimaa.

In 2022, the hotel introduced its elegant Seurahuone Apartments, equipped with their own kitchens and thus suitable also for long-term stays.

Radisson RED to open in Helsinki

Radisson Hotels and S Group are introducing a new hotel brand to Finland, offering locals a chance to experience the new international upscale brand and international travelers a taste of the urban Helsinki vibe. In the intersection of urban city life and stunning nature, Radisson RED Helsinki has an amazing location that is almost too good to be true. Located between Kaisaniemi park and the city center, the hotel truly offers the best of both worlds, regardless of what you are in the mood to experience. Opening in August 2023.

A new village hotel to open in Koli

The brand new Break Sokos Hotel Koli Kylä is to open in Koli, right next to the hiking trails of the national park, in time for Midsummer. The hotel floor designs present Koli's different seasons, from misty spruce forests in the spring to snowy peaks. The hotel is ideal for groups, active hikers and families. The construction itself, the selected materials and forms of energy – from the zone heating plant to an own solar power plant, support the principles of sustainable tourism.

Original Sokos Hotel Royal Vaasa, Break Sokos Hotel Bomba and Break Sokos Hotel Tahko have also embarked on a path of renewal. Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4 will open in Katajanokanranta, Helsinki, in 2024. To be continued in the next newsletter!
