We bid you a warm welcome to Vaakuna, a hospitable Functionalistic hotel at the very heart of Helsinki! You too can write your name in our guest book along J.K. Paasikivi, the former President of Finland, Juri Gagarin, cosmonaut, and Armi Kuusela, Miss Universum. The Finnish national cross-country skiing team also made history here in 1972, when Vaakuna's terrace hosted the world's first and so far only terrace skiing competition.

We have had the pleasure to pamper our customers for over 60 years. Our first guests were distinguished guests to the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Our services have changed over the last 60 years, but we still take care of you and our other customers wholeheartedly.

Our tenth floor restaurant is renowned for their good food and magnificent views over the roofs of Helsinki. Bar Loiste is good place to relax after a long day and Restaurant Loiste offers delicious meals. Did you know that you can organise your own private party in Kaarre or have a meeting with your companions over amazing views?

HOTEL FULL OF DESIGN

Did you noticed all the fine artefacts in our hotel lobby when entering? Gunnar Finne's statue entitled "Groteski" is located at the centre of the original fountain in the lobby. Armchairs upholstered with blue leather are located under a glass dome adorned with clouds and pigeons. Lighting fixtures designed by Paavo Tynell complete the atmosphere of the entry lobby. More beautiful things to enjoy are found all over the hotel!

WE OFFER THE BEST VIEWS OF HELSINKI

Amazing views in all directions are the pride and joy of our staff. You don't have to leave the hotel to see the best views in Helsinki. You can borrow a pair of binoculars for children, so that they can find the Ferris wheel in the Linnanmäki amusement park more easily in the landscape. Helsinki is so well present in our hotel rooms, that you may find yourself spending a great deal of time looking at the city from the window.

TRADITION OF GOOD SERVICE CONTINUES

Service at Vaakuna has always been warm and good-natured. We have eye for service in our blood. Do you need to borrow shoes for the presidential reception, a ride home or a helicopter on the roof? We have arranged all sorts of things over the years, so trust us: we won't be all fingers and thumbs when we attend to you. Enjoy the view and beauty around you.
