Fransmanni restaurants offer training in manners
The Ruokalistalla hyvät tavat ("Good manners on the menu") campaign, now in its fourth year, is implemented in 2014–2015 jointly by Fransmanni restaurants, Atria, Hartwall, Duni and Libris. The protector of the campaign is Kaarina Suonperä, chairwoman of the Tapaseura society.
The campaign emphasises the importance of shared family meals for the well-being of families and seeks to increase interest among sixth-graders in cuisine and good manners. Every Fransmanni restaurant chooses a class every year for which the restaurant staff offer coaching in good manners. Schools can order booklets related to the campaign for use in class through SubjectAid at subjectaid.fi
In 2014, Fransmanni restaurants and their partners supplied schools with over 10,000 booklets on good manners.
"It is great to be able to work closely with young people. The school class we have worked with has surely received a new perspective on the daily studying, as well as memorable experiences."
- Pasi Pekkanen, Restaurant manager of Fransmanni in Kotka
"Between saying "bon appétit" and saying "thanks" at the end of the meal, there is time to chat, eat without haste and taste new flavours. Eating together is extremely important for the well-being of all family members."
- Kaarina Suonperä, Chairwoman of the Tapaseura society and the sponsor of the campaign
