Finland's northernmost Break Sokos Hotel Levi has been redesigned

Break Sokos Hotel Levi, located in Levi, amidst the fell scenery of Lapland, has been redesigned.

Its restaurants, reception and sauna facilities have been given a fresh look incorporating a Lapland feel. The hotel's new cozy restaurant which goes by the name Grill it! Levi is all about fireplaces and terraces. In addition to the redesigned hotel, Levi offers plenty of activities in the magnificent nature of Lapland.

The location of Break Sokos Hotel Levi, in the middle of an alpine village at the foot of a fell, is unique in Finland. You have direct access to the surrounding nature. In autumn, fiery autumn colors cover the fells and in winter, snow covers their peaks.

Autumn tours & Northern lights

In Levi, autumn colors surface in mid-September. "The scenery resembles something from the pages in a fairy tale book, it is so beautiful here during the arctic autumn," says Hilkka Lehtinen, General Manager at Break Sokos Hotel Levi. The autumn colors are best enjoyed when hiking in the fells, and the area offers hiking trails of multiple lengths and levels of difficulty.

"The trails are well marked and the maps of the area are accurate. The easiest route is a gondola ride to the top of Levi. A completely unobstructed, 500-meter-long top trail and a 360-degree magnificent panoramic view await at the top. We also offer guided hiking tours," Lehtinen adds.

"The Kätkätunturi fell offers a magnificent scenery in the direction of Levitunturi, Ylläs and Pallastunturi fells. The silence at this peak is palpable. The distance to the Kätkätunturi fell is 6 km in each direction."

Levi in autumn is, in addition to hiking, also perfect for downhill and mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking and playing disc golf. Being introduced to the life of sled dogs in the kennel is also a great experience. With some luck, visitors may experience the magnificent northern lights light up the sky.

Winter in the fells

Levi is one of Finland's most popular winter destinations. Levi has slopes for skiers of all levels, including the country's most demanding black slopes. For cross-country skiers, Levi offers an extensive network of trails, of which 28 km are illuminated. How about a visit to a reindeer farm, an ice-charting track, a brisk snowshoe hike, a tour of Samiland, or a ride in a sleigh pulled by huskies? Levi in winter is filled with activities!

The spirit of Lapland is reflected in the redesigned hotel

The northern experiences continue in the cozy, redesigned premises of Break Sokos Hotel Levi. An all-new à la carte restaurant by the name of Grill It! Levi opened in August, with a menu consisting of meat, fish and vegetable dishes prepared on a charcoal grill. Grill it! also sports a large, sunny terrace, from which one can observe the life in the alpine village.

The interior of Restaurant Kiisa, which serves as a breakfast and event restaurant, showcases decorative Lappish motifs. The Coffee House, on the other hand, is a casual café that invites guests into a world of quality coffees and fresh pastries.

The sauna area has a new look

A day spent outdoors in Finland will naturally end with a visit to the sauna! "Our revamped, Lapland-inspired sauna area has a luxurious spa atmosphere. The interior features stones and gold typical of Lapland, and fresh water is, after enjoying some steam, drunk out of hand-carved cups," Hotel Manager Sanna Tietäväinen explains.

"You also have the possibility to try a new Finnish innovation, the Amanda Ice Swimming Shower. In this shower, you can experience health-enhancing cold exposure, resembling ice swimming, in a pleasant way."

The rooms of Break Sokos Hotel Levi showcase the spirit of the different seasons of Lapland. You have a choice between blue moments of winter, summer and autumn colors.

Levi is located in Fell Lapland, north of the Arctic Circle. The Levi Resort can be reached by plane to Kittilä, from where there is a 15 km drive to the hotel. Another option is to board the night train to Kolari, a distance of 78 km from Levi.
