The 27th High-Rise King will be crowned on 10 September

Rescue workers know very well what it means when an incident is escalated to level four. It is the most serious category of rescue incident: a firefighter’s heart begins to beat faster on the way to the scene, their breathing quickens and adrenaline levels soar.

But what if, instead of level four, the challenge involves 440 steps? That is approximately how many stairs competitors must climb to reach the 22nd floor of Original Sokos Hotel Viru, while carrying 20 kilograms of rescue equipment on their backs. Some brave competitors even race against the clock for the chance to claim the prestigious title of High-Rise King.

Competition registration

• A maximum of 130 competitors can take part.
• The competition includes both individual and team categories.
• Only competitors taking part in the team category should enter their team name on the online registration form.
• Changes to team line-ups can be submitted until 11:59 p.m. on 7 September by emailing krista.jaamul@paasteamet.ee
• The starting order will be sent to registered competitors on 8 September.
