Accessible services
At the main entrance of Rovaniemi’s Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna, there is a ramp providing accessible entry to the hotel lobby. The ramp has a slope of approx. 20%, and there is a handrail on the left side. The automatic exterior door has a passage width of 80 cm in winter, and in summer the doors open wider.

From the hotel lobby, there is a ramp leading to the restaurant Frans & Chérie and to the Mon Amour meeting room. Please note that the ramp with one-sided handrail from the lobby to the restaurant is steep (25%) and includes a turn without a landing, which may require an assistant — hotel staff are happy to help.

The restaurant Frans & Chérie has an accessible customer restroom.

There is no accessible access to the 3rd‑floor meeting rooms Tokka and Kota, or the hotel Suites, as the corridor leading to the meeting area includes a staircase. Portable ramps are not recommended for personal use.

Parking is free of charge with an official parking card for people with reduced mobility.

Hotel room
Our hotel rooms are not designed to be fully accessible.
The outer door of the hotel room measures 80 cm wide from the inner frame.
The height of the threshold to the hotel room is 2 cm.

In standard rooms, the bed height is approximately 56 cm.
In superior and themed rooms as well as suites, the bed height is approximately 66 cm.

Hotel bathroom
The bathroom and toilet door measures 70 cm wide from the inner frame.
The height of the threshold to the bathroom and toilet is 4 cm.
The shower room has a 58 cm wide shower door.
A shower chair or shower caddy is available on request.
There are no handrails or lowered levels.

Breakfast
Served in Frans & Chérie restaurant, 1st floor, access via a ramp entrance.
Breakfast staff can assist with collecting food items. Counters are 90 cm high and do not have legroom underneath.
There is an accessible customer toilet in the restaurant.
A detachable table lamp can be requested for the tables.

Customer sauna and shower room
On the 1st floor of the hotel, the external door of the customer sauna measures 76 cm wide when measured from the inner frame.
Threshold height 2cm. Door width to shower area 78 cm.
Width of shower walls in the shower area 87 cm.
Door width to sauna area 57 cm.
Height of the step for the sauna baths 23 cm.
There are no support rails or lowered steps.
