Pori's Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna will begin an extensive renovation of the hotel rooms in January 2024. The renovation work will be carried out in two phases. The renovation work of the first phase will be completed by the beginning of June 2024, and the second renovation phase will start on January 1, 2025. Pori's Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna is open throughout the renovation work.

During the two-phase renovation, 76 of Vaakuna's hotel rooms will get a new, fresh look. The aim is to carry out the renovation works in such a way that they cause as little inconvenience to guests as possible.

"It's great that we can offer our guests the renovated rooms, which are a natural continuation of the renovation of our new, wonderful reception. Our staff is also looking forward to this renovation and we believe that beautiful, functional rooms will bring more happy guests," says hotel manager Riina Kuusijoensuu.

Flock Oy is responsible for the interior design. The rooms will be renovated in accordance with the Svengi theme used in the renovation of the reception and the lobby, which was inspired by Pori's summer and sports events, as well as the people of Pori who go swinging regardless of the day and season. The rooms with their wonderful rhythms of lights and colors are anything but boring. In Pori's Vaakuna, swing is felt in soft materials and a delicately shy atmosphere that embraces the traveler.

"I wanted to create a warm, playful and high-quality atmosphere in the rooms that nurtures the traveler's relaxation, pampers and creates a feeling of their own safe world," says Flock's architect Anna Kyyhkynen.

The main contractor is Veljet Mäkilä Oy, a construction company from Eurajoki. Several other local partners are also used in the renovation work.
