At Break Sokos Hotel Tahko, the wing between the hotel's main building and the restaurant Hophaus is now being demolished, the construction of the new part will begin at the turn of the year. The renovation of the hotel's main building's 66 rooms, restaurant Hillside and event facilities was completed in the fall of 2023. In the future, Break Sokos Hotel Tahko offers its guests a high-quality hotel home that fits naturally into the surrounding natural landscape with versatile services.

The five-story new part, which will be completed in November 2024, will have approximately 60 rooms from Standard class to Suites, as well as pampering and wellness services. In the new rooms close to nature, you can fall asleep and wake up next to the landscape, because almost all rooms will have wonderful views in the direction of the slopes of Tahko.

"Today's traveler longs for closeness to nature, ecological sustainability and wellness services - things that we, too, invest in more and more with the renovation. In the future, we will offer Tahko even more extensive services for our guests coming to Tahko for a vacation or, say, a meeting, next to wonderful nature and nature activities," says hotel manager Anna Hämäläinen.

The old furniture was auctioned off - the proceeds went to charity

The furniture and water fixtures of the part of the hotel to be demolished between the main building and the restaurant Hophaus were auctioned in cooperation with the local Vilin Valinna. "Everything went, even the building materials down to the parquet. We are happy that the functional furniture will continue to live elsewhere. That was our goal," hotel manager Krista Saha says. "Proceeds from the auction go to charity.

The distillery restaurant Hophaus will also be renovated

The Hophaus distillery restaurant, located at the end of the hotel part that is being demolished, will also be renovated, there will be more customer places and better performance opportunities for bigger bands as well.

Break Sokos Hotel Tahko will be renewed in two phases during the years 2023–2024. In September 2023, the rooms of the main building, the restaurant Hillside and the event facilities were completed. The five-story new part will be completed at the end of 2024. The hotel is open during the renovation work. Demolition work is done on weekdays between 7 am and 7 pm and on Saturdays between 9 am and 7 pm.

In 2023-2024, Osuuskauppa PeeÄssä will invest a whopping 28 million in the development of tourism in North Savo.
