Sokos Hotels announces new hotel in Tallinn – Original Sokos Hotel Talsinki to open in 2029
Finnish hotel operator Sokotel, part of S Group, has agreed to open a new hotel in the Talsinki quarter to be built between the centre of Tallinn and the seafront. The new hotel will strenghten the position of Sokos Hotels in the growing Tallinn hotel market.
In recent years, Sokotel has invested particularly in the Helsinki metropolitan area, opening new hotels and renovating existing properties.

Sokos Hotels have operated Original Sokos Hotel Viru in the city center for over 20 years, and we now want to offer new interesting options to the visitors in Tallinn as well. Sokos Hotel Talsinki will be an exciting new hotel in an excellent location between the city centre and the harbour," says Jari Annala, CEO of Sokotel.
Original Sokos Hotel Talsinki will open in early 2029 in central Tallinn, within the new Talsinki Quarter. It is located close to the passenger harbour and Ferry terminals, and just a short walk from Rotermann Quarter, one of the city’s best-known dining, shopping and lifestyle districts.
Talsinki builds wellbeing
Talsinki is Estonia’s first urban quarter based on the longevity concept. At its core is an environment designed to support health, wellbeing, a good life and meaningful ways to spend time. In addition to high-quality homes and the hotel, the new seafront quarter will feature modern workplaces, restaurants, health and wellbeing services, and attractive public spaces.

Original Sokos Hotel Talsinki will be designed with guests’ wellbeing and comfort in mind. The hotel will feature 222 rooms decorated in calm tones, a stylish bar area with terraces, two meeting rooms and a breakfast restaurant. All restaurant spaces will also be suitable for private events. Hotel guests will have access to the gym and spa services in the Talsinki Quarter.
The Talsinki Quarter is a tribute to the long history and close ties between Finland and Estonia. The character of both Tallinn and Helsinki will also be reflected in the interior design of the future hotel. With its relaxed, living-room-like atmosphere, the hotel will invite guests to spend time and feel at home, while its convenient location will serve both business and leisure travelers.
