One great way to spend your sunny summer day is to visit Alahovi Winery which is also reachable by car in just under an hour. During wintertime Veijo likes to go ice skating on the frozen Lake Kallavesi. The best ice skating routes in Kuopio start from the harbour which is close to our hotel.

One absolute gem in Kuopio area is Tahko tourism center which is located only one hour drive away from Kuopio. Tahko offers activities for everyone: downhill skiing, SUP-boarding, hiking and golf, for example.

You can buy this delicious local traditional Finnish fish pasty from the marketplace and directly from the bakery on Kasarmikatu.
