Arriving at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko from the south:

1. Continue north from Kuopio on the motorway (VT5) towards Iisalmi for about 21 km.

2. Upon reaching Siilinjärvi, exit the motorway towards Nilsiä/Nurmes (road 77/75) and continue for 350 m.

3. Turn right onto Nilsiäntie (road 75) and continue for about 28 km.

4. Turn left onto Juankoskentie (road 569) and continue for 3 km.

5. Turn left onto Varpaisjärventie (road 577) and continue for 7 km.

6. Turn right towards Tahko (Sääskiniementie, road 5775) and continue for 5.9 km.

7. Go through one roundabout and take the second exit straight towards Tahko center.

8. Upon reaching the second roundabout, the hotel and parking lot are on the left. The hotel entrance is located at the lower left corner of the parking lot when facing the slopes of Tahkovuori.

Your navigator might direct you to take Sänkimäentie (road 5761) after Siilinjärvi, but we do not recommend using this route, especially in winter.

Arriving at Break Sokos Hotel Tahko from the north:

1. Continue south from Iisalmi towards Kuopio (VT5) for 21.4 km.

2. In Lapinlahti, turn left onto Varpaisjärventie (road 582) and continue for about 19 km.

3. Upon reaching the center of Varpaisjärvi, at the T-junction, turn right towards Nilsiä (road 577) and continue for 19.8 km.

4. Turn left towards Tahko (Sääskiniementie, road 5775) and continue for 5.9 km.

5. Go through one roundabout and take the second exit straight towards Tahko center.

6. Upon reaching the second roundabout, the hotel and parking lot are on the left. The hotel entrance is located at the lower left corner of the parking lot when facing the slopes.

There are good signs for Tahko from VT5 both from the south and the north. Following them will get you there easily!

Our hotel parking spaces will become paid starting in December.

We recommend paying for parking via Easypark or Parkman app – it’s the fastest and most convenient option. Please note that these apps may charge an additional service fee. Alternatively, you can pay at a parking machine using a card. If neither option is possible, payment can also be made at the reception desk, where you will need to provide your license plate number upon arrival.

If needed, car heating posts are available in the back parking lot for €5 per stay. You can get the key for the heating post from the reception, where the fee is also paid.
