The City of Kajaani celebrates 375 years!

On Sunday, March 6, 1651, Count Per Brahe signed the founding document of the City of Kajaani by the wintry Ämmäkoski rapids. At that time, the city was a small community of about four hundred inhabitants next to Kajaani Castle.
In 2026, Kajaani is a vibrant city that has developed into a center of expertise and business that exceeds its size. Today, Kajaani has internationally significant technology industry and is known for its culture and fascinating tourist attractions, among other things.
