At Vaakuna, we offer Online Check-In and Mobile Key, available through the Sokos Hotels mobile app.

Rooms

At Vaakuna, the rooms are spacious and bright, with plenty of space for work and high-quality beds for relaxation. Every room has a desk for working and a fridge to store evening snacks. Have you already found your favorite room type? Let our staff know, and we’ll make a note of it for your future stays!

Sauna & Jacuzzi

Your room rate includes access to our large sauna area – the perfect place to leave everyday stress behind. Just bring your towel and swimsuit from the room. In addition to saunas, you can enjoy the bubbles of our jacuzzi or a workout session. Cool off on the terrace and don’t forget to leave a note in our guestbook! Drinks can be ordered to the sauna area without a service charge directly from Restaurant Torero using the phone in the dressing room.

Restaurants

The Vaakuna block’s fantastic restaurant selection offers flavors for every moment. Within the same block, you’ll find everything from dining restaurants and casual eateries to a cozy café and a nightclub. Menus are available at Raflaamo.fi or via a QR code on your room TV. S-Card menus are displayed at the hotel reception and available from your waitress in the restaurants. Amarillo, Rosso, and Torero can all be accessed conveniently indoors from the hotel.

Location

Our biggest plus is the convenient parking hall with direct access to the hotel. Business meetings or evening cultural events in the city center are always within walking distance. The S-market downstairs is open daily until 10 p.m. Numerous shopping options are available both within the same building and across the street – perfect if you forgot something at home. The Sokos department store also houses an S-hair salon as well. Excellent outdoor and sports facilities can be found nearby, and you can borrow Jopo bicycles from the hotel to explore Joensuu further.
