Joensuu is known as a student and cycling city, where short distances, moderate elevation differences, and an extensive network of bike paths create excellent conditions for cycling. The beautiful scenery along the Pielisjoki river invites you to explore the city center—or why not head out on a longer adventure to enjoy nature? The best way to see and experience Joensuu is by bike. You can ride right along the riversides and high-quality cycling streets, cross the Ylisoutaja bridge reserved only for pedestrians and cyclists, or even head to the beach.

Nearby destinations easily accessible by bike include, for example, the Kuhasalo nature trails, the Utra Islands nature area, Jokiasema, and the Botania art and event garden. You can read more about cycling routes and nature trails here.

Jopo bikes can be rented from our hotel reception for 5 €/bike for 0–4 hours. Helmets and cable locks are also available to borrow from reception. Please note that Jopo bikes cannot be reserved in advance, and they are available for rent only between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Bike rentals are not available during major event weekends.
