Our hotel is committed to taking the well-being of the environment into account in our operations.
As proof of this, the Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone has been awarded the Green Key label.
Green Key is an international eco-label that promotes sustainable tourism. With eco-certified hotels, guests have even better opportunities to make environmentally sustainable choices and reduce their own carbon footprint.
The Green Key is visible in our hotel, both in the technology of the hotelrooms and in the daily cleaning. For example, in our rooms, the faucet and showers use water-saving limiters to regulate the flow of water, and we prefer using a local operator when handling our customer laundry service. Our lighting uses LED lights throughout the house and the lighting is designed to work energy efficiently. The electricity is activated and works in the room only with a key card and the lighting in the room is designed to be practical and pleasant for our guests. We have reduced the use of plastic, for example, instead of plastic bags, we use paper bags, our disposable containers and straws are made of bioplastic or recycled material. We avoid the use of plastic products, for example, in our customer service products. In addition, we use a lot of organic and local products in our restaurant and breakfast. We always prefer local actors as partners. Our rooms have energy-saving air-conditioning. Our guests can adjust the temperature in the room according to their own preferences.
We avoid unnecessary paper usage and recycle waste efficiently. Our rooms have sorting facilities for rubbish and towels can be used more than once to save water, and our guests can decide for themselves whether they want a room cleaning during their stay.
We encourage our customers to be more environmentally friendly by offering bicycles to lend during the spring and summer seasons, and we are happy to tell you the best cycling and walking routes and advise on the use of local public transport. We constantly strive to develop our operations for the benefit of the environment.
