Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova
Museum of History and Contemporary Art Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova is a unique combination of history, archaeology and contemporary art in the centre of Turku. Underground, Aboa Vetus shows medieval ruins and numerous artefacts. Upstairs, the Rettig Palace houses exhibitions of contemporary art. The museum shop is the most extensive in Turku and the cosy café is well worth a visit.
Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum
The unique museum comprises 18 blocks of wooden buildings that were spared from the Great Fire of Turku in 1827. Nowadays they house artisans' homes and workshops. Step into the idyllic courtyards and immerse yourself in the history of Turku.
Turku has three art museums. Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art, located by the Aura river, is the art museum of the City of Turku. The Museum of Contemporary Art Ars Nova is also located on the Aura riverside. Turku Art Museum is located on Puolalanmäki.
Turku Market Hall
Turku Market Hall maintains local culinary traditions – and introduces new trends. The Market Hall is the place to fill your picnic basket or buy treats to take home: take your pick of traditional delicacies, organic food, local produce or new culinary trends. Take a break from shopping and enjoy a lovely lunch or cup of coffee. Finland's tiniest Alko (off-licence) and best bakery shop are also located in the Market Hall.
Logomo is a venue for conferences, seminars, conventions, theatre, trade fairs, exhibitions, film screenings and various private events.
