Terms of use Sokos Hotels Application

These terms and conditions apply to the Sokos Hotels app (the “app”). The use of the app requires that the natural person who uses the app (the “customer”) approves these terms and conditions.

The Sokos Hotels app and the parties to the agreement

The app is intended for Sokos Hotels’ customers. Customers can make and cancel reservations and view their S-Card details via the app.

The app is provided by SOK Corporation (“SOK”), Fleminginkatu 34, P.O. Box 1, FI-00088 Helsinki, Finland, tel. +358 10 7682 777 (€0.084 per minute).

These terms and conditions can be read in and copied from the app.The terms of use of S Group’s “Omat tiedot (My information)” service also apply to these terms and conditions and the customer’s use of the app.

SOK’s responsibilities for the app

SOK reserves the right to modify the app or to close it at any time. The app’s service range may increase or decrease. Any disruptions or breaks in network connections may have an impact on the up-to-dateness and visibility of data and content included in the app. All intellectual property rights to the app belong to SOK, and customers can stop using the app at any time.

SOK has the right to make amendments to these terms and conditions. Any amendments made to the terms and conditions shall be approved by the customer through the app, in order for the customer to be able to continue using the app.

The customers’ responsibilities for information security and the payment instruments

Customers shall keep their terminal device in a safe place. Customers are also responsible for the proper use of the app and for the information security of their device. Customers shall not enter their payment card details into the app if their device has been hacked or if updates which are not in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions have been installed on their device.

If a device is misplaced or otherwise not in the customer’s possession, the customer shall cancel all credit cards added to the service and immediately notify the credit card company’s cancellation service thereof.

Data protection and the use of personal data

When the app is used, data will be saved in the S Group’s co-op member and customer register as well as inSOK Travel and Hospitality Industry’s S-Card loyal customer register. The personal data provided by the customer and data about the customer’s purchase transactions will be saved.

Data about the use of the app can be used to target marketing activities and to target and develop Sokos Hotels’ own media content.

The app collects analytics-based user data for marketing, service development and reporting. Customers can restrict the processing of analytics-based data, in which case this data will be anonymous.

Customer can save payment card details in the app. Read more about this on My Account service’s terms and conditions.

The customer’s preference and reservation settings entered into the app are used for improving the service experience, and they will also be saved in the SOK Travel and Hospitality Industry’s customer register.

Basic data about the customer’s hotel reservations will be saved, such as their personal data, room type, the number of staying customers and any additional services purchased. This data will also be saved in the SOK Travel and Hospitality Industry’s customer register.

Place of jurisdiction and applicable laws

This agreement and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Finland, without reference to its choice of laws principles. Any disputes arising from this agreement and/or these terms and conditions will be settled at the district court of Helsinki or at the district court of the customer’s domicile in Finland.
