Fun with the kids in Kokkola

The book cart at the reception has games and books that can be borrowed and taken to the bedrooms. In summer, we can lend scooters and buggies, and kicksleds or sleds in the winter. There is a train track at reception, and in July one of our meeting rooms becomes a large playroom. Onni the squirrel himself enjoys his time in Kaarle in July, and can often be found in the breakfast area or children's playroom.

Our restaurants are also welcoming to kids, and our chefs have conjured up children's treats.

The Vesiveijari swimming centre is everyone's favourite, and we recommend a boat trip to Tankar lighthouse island in the summer.

There are lovely parks around the town. The sea park is a popular hangout for young people in the summer. It includes a mini golf course, disc golf, a beach volleyball course and a children's playground. Brita Maria educational park is a great place for exercise and play for people of every age. The park has  an electronic exercise game, barbeque area and plenty more. The park is connected to a skate park and a pumptrack.

Animal lovers should definitely head to Toivonen animal park. The animals can be admired in the pleasant traditional rural surroundings.

Kokkola also has sports grounds and playgrounds that can be enjoyed whatever the weather or time of year. Touhutalo is a family adventure and game world where young and old alike will find a variety of fun activities, including climbing and adventure mazes, slides and bouncy castles.

As a seaside town, there are several beaches in Kokkola. We also warmly recommend the nature trails that can be found both near the town and a little further away. We'll be happy to tell you more at the reception.
